Well yesterday I wandered down to the dock and had a poke at the ice on Sunset Bay - about 5 inches and you could easily stick an oar through it and the docks were locked into the ice flow. This is the scene this morning at about 7:30. We had rain last night and that has helped. Everyone always asks if we pull the docks in the winter. We let them freeze in the have easy disconnects which we took out a couple of days ago. Most of the time the docks shift and drift into the shore line. Once in a while we have to scramble to get a boat in and chase down a section that is headed for the open waters of Red Lake.
8 days, 15 hours and 27 minutes until walleye fishing season opener!
