Sure Signs of Fall at Sunset Lodge
Last week I mentioned the Red Lake Fall Classic and those of you who visit regularly in Sept know that that means Bear Hunting season is upon us. Our black bear hunters were in over the past couple of weeks and were 5 for 5. The unusual part of all this is that even in early September, there were still blueberries to contend with. After last years horrid weather, Rene opted for hunting Sunset Lodge Bear Management Area from logging roads and the 4-wheelers were put to the test. All hunters got their bear and Mike B. was able to capitalize and take down a chocolate color phase bear - at last poll, it is headed for a head and shoulder mount. We celebrated with some sauteed bear heart - really tasty!
