Jeff is a regular visitor to Sunset Lodge since the 1980's. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed the walleye and northern fishing on Red Lake during this last week of May. It was a "buzz".

Red Lake Walleye Season
Yes, the walleye fishing season opener is this weekend and bets are on as to when the ice will be out. Once again, it is going to be a nail biter as to the exact date the ice will leave. We have had a couple of excellent days - Mother Nature is finally cooperating! Sunset Bay is developing a nice walleye chop! Skookum Bay went out last weekend and Red Lake usually follows a week to 10 days. Temps in the high 60's next few days.
