I just wanted to keep you up to date on our efforts to get the GST Rebate for you. We are in the process of obtaining a ruling from the GST/HST Ruling Centre. We have submitted our claim to the Rulings Department.
I had to do much more background work that I had initially thought but I am hoping that my efforts pay off and our guests will qualify for a rebate under the new "Foreign Convention and Tour Incentives Program". Ultimately, the ruling is required to determine if we qualify as a 'tour package' in the new definition of 'tour package'. We will have a ruling 4 - 6 weeks after submission. Included in the submission I am requesting the parameters which will enable the rebate to be issued by Sunset Lodge.
